Pinwheel Ceremony – April 6th 12 p.m. – 1p.m. Midland County Courthouse Front Lawn

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAP). Safe and Sound Child Advocacy Center works tirelessly year round to address and prevent child abuse and neglect.

The blue pinwheel is a nationally recognized symbol of the hope, healing, and happiness deserving of every child. When the entire community takes responsibility for creating healthy environments for children, we lay the foundation for growth and development.

This quick lunch time planting will start at 12 and run until 1 p.m. We invite all community members who want to commit to #StandUpForKids and #BeTheOne to make a difference in the life of a child here in Midland county. This ceremony will look a little different than the past. To avoid the congregation of a group of people, we will not have an official ceremony or speaker but rather we will have pinwheels available for you to come and plant! Think of it as a drive by planting!

**Masks required** Social distancing required ** COVID-19 Protocols followed **

Pinwheels for Prevention Campaign Objectives include:
1. Generate greater awareness of our organization, mission and programs;
2. Increase knowledge of child abuse and neglect prevention;
3. Foster measurable changes in attitudes and beliefs toward child abuse and neglect prevention; and
4. Foster measurable changes in behaviors with regard to child abuse and neglect prevention.”

Superhero 5K Fun Run + Walk – April 23rd to April 30th !

Did you know that April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month? Prevention means supporting all families and helping them find their strengths. Raising healthy children contributes to a thriving and healthy community.

On behalf of Safe and Sound Child Advocacy Center (SAS) we would like to invite you to be a part of our 6th Annual Superhero 5K Fun Run & Walk event . This week long event will take place virtually starting on Friday, April 23rd and ending on Friday, April 30th. This allows our runners and walkers total flexibility for participating. We had great success with turning our event virtual last year.

Become a Safe and Sound Superhero and #BeTheOne. We believe through the power of one person, one community, one dollar, one action, Midland County residents can help to protect children from abuse and neglect and strengthen families right here in Midland county.

Runner’s will receive event t-shirts for participating. Participants will be responsible for picking up their event shirts from SAS or the shipping costs involved if necessary.

Preventing child abuse before it occurs is the responsible way to manage our society’s future! #CAPmonth
