CALLING ALL ARTISTS!
The Safe and Sound Child Advocacy Center (SASCAC) invites YOU
to be part of the 8th Annual Art + Advocacy Auction as an art/creative donor.
Let’s be honest. The year 2020 has been tough.
Never have we had to face a pandemic and a 500-year flood at the same time.
Separately, these events could have been enough to break us yet we have pulled together and remained strong.
Our event may look a little different this year however our needs remain the same.
This premier art auction will showcase approximately 50 pieces of work from a host of talented artists through an online auction during the first part of February 2021. The type of artwork for purchase at the event includes sculptures, pottery, woodworking, paintings and photography. Proceeds support SASCAC’s work in prevention education and intervention for physically and sexually abused children in Midland County.
Through an art donation to Art + Advocacy you’re helping us keep kids safe by:
- Giving children a safe space to share their traumatic experiences. Child Advocacy centers have revolutionized the way that professionals respond to child abuse by reducing trauma for children.
- Providing the resources to go into the schools to help give teachers and students the tools and means to prevent,
recognize, and report abuse and neglect.
- Offering education and training to organizations, groups, and adults on child abuse issues and prevention.
- Supporting low income families by providing dental care, car seats & portable cribs.
Art must be completed and submitted to SASCAC, 2716 Jefferson Avenue, Midland no later than Friday, January 8 (Note: Our office is closed between December 24 and January 3).
All entries will be reviewed by the Art + Advocacy committee for appropriateness of the event. Not all entries will be selected.
If you are interested in submitting an art piece for the auction, please complete the included Artist Contract Form and submit to our agency at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 989-835-9922 for additional
All selected artists will have their art highlighted on our social media page along with links to their preferred business or personal web page.
Thank you for enriching our community and supporting Safe and Sound Child Advocacy Center. We are truly grateful for your generosity.
Innocence Lost – Childhood should be a time of play and discovery – but for millions of children around the world who are victims of abuse or neglect, the innocence is soon lost. Unfortunately, no community is immune from the reality.
Consider – in one year alone in Midland County, more than 150 children were confirmed to be victims of child abuse or neglect. And those children represent only the cases that are reported and confirmed. Other children suffer in silence.
A Voice for Change – The Safe & Sound Child Advocacy Center provides a refuge and a voice for abused and neglected children. Established by concerned community members in 1979 as the Midland County Child Protection Council, our board and committee membership includes a wide range of community volunteers, including a representative from law enforcement, the prosecuting attorney’s office, family service organizations, education, and other government agencies.
If you would like to help make a difference in the life of a child, please do not hesitate to contact us.
